The one millionth Hungarian citizenship request may already have been submitted, while the number of those who have taken their citizenship oaths may reach one million by November, the date of the Hungarian Standing Conference, the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for nation policy said on Wednesday in Tusnádfürdő in an interview given to the public service television news channel M1.

Zsolt Semjén said regarding the 28th Bálványos Summer Open University and Student Camp held this week that Tusványos has been one of the most important discussion forums of the Hungarian community world-wide for almost three decades, and this is why the motto this year is „Tusványos – a point of reference”.

The Deputy Prime Minister took the view regarding the visit of Romanian head of state Klaus Iohannis to Szeklerland on Tuesday that it is a major step forward as President Iohannis was given a Szekler flag during his visit, and he presented a Romanian one in return.

It is also an important indication that the Romanian President listened to the Szekler national anthem standing to attention, and said that he supports regional and municipal autonomy, Mr Semjén added.
