Hungary has no choice but to restore order along its border and that of the European Union, because otherwise it will be unable to successfully stem the flow of illegal immigrants, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on Hungarian M1 television’s “Actual Channel” programme on Thursday evening.
According to the Government Spokesperson, an untenable state of affairs has developed not only in Hungary but within the whole European Union.
It would seem that Hungary is the only country along the so-called Western Balkan route that is endeavouring to perform its migration-related duties.
With relation to the news that the bodies of some 50 migrants have been discovered in a heavy goods vehicle with Hungarian number plates on the Austrian A4 motorway, Mr. Kovács said nothing could better symbolise the state of affairs which currently characterises EU migration policy.
