Szabolcs Takács, Minister of State for EU Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office had talks with UN High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Inzko in Budapest on 2 May 2017.

DownloadThe parties reviewed the progress of the implementation of the Dayton Agreement and the status of the EU integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also talked about the latest developments of the country’s internal political situation.

The Minister of State confirmed Hungary’s consistent and committed support for the EU integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina which is also testified to by the large Hungarian contingent participating in the international missions, the grants provided on a bilateral basis and the delegation of a Hungarian EU expert who will arrive in Sarajevo soon.

Mr Takács said: Hungary has a vested strategic interest in the stability and development of the Western Balkans which could be best achieved through the region’s integration into the EU, and Hungary therefore supports the EU’s enlargement in the region of the Western Balkans at every forum.
