According to Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office János Lázár all measures aimed at reducing the number of those working on Sundays should be supported – national newspaper Népszabadság wrote.

Currently 4 million people work in Hungary, out of whom 1 million have to go to work on Sundays as well, a number which is very high – the Minister explained in the Tuesday issue of the paper.

Mr Lázár stated that should there be a referendum as a result of the popular initiative, the government parties will take up the gauntlet and will try to convince voters, or – if the circumstances require – will accept the voters’ decision.
