The Prime Minister’s Office welcomes the Solidarity Sabbath initiative called to life by the Tom Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice in an attempt to underscore the importance of the fight against anti-Semitism, incitement of hatred and exclusion, as well as the importance of tolerance.
The event is held today on 22 May, right before Pentecost, creating a good opportunity for deepening the Jewish-Christian dialogue.
The Government announced zero tolerance towards all forms and every manner of anti-Semitism and exclusion while also respectfully paying tribute to the memory of all the victims and helping the work of those who fight against the incitement of hatred every day.
Let the “Solidarity Sabbath” be a day when we turn with special empathy to anyone suffering persecution or discrimination by reason of religion or origin.
