The leaders of all parliamentary groups attending the meeting scheduled by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for Saturday morning agreed that an agreement is needed in Brussels which bears in mind the earlier decisions of Parliament on the issue of immigration, as well as European and Hungarian interests.

Bertalan Havasi, chief of the Prime Minister’s Press Office, told kormany.hu that the Prime Minister saw it as important to inform and consult with the heads of the parliamentary groups of the Hungarian Parliament before the extraordinary Turkey-EU summit on Sunday.

The meeting, held in the Prime Minister’s study, was not attended by the head of the MSZP parliamentary group; the reason given was that party’s congress on Saturday, and the leader did not wish to take the opportunity of providing a deputy to attend in his place.
