The first summit of the Polish presidency of the Visegrád cooperation will be held on Friday in Warsaw with the attendance of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
According to his information, in the morning, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovic, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will attend a working meeting in the Prime Minister’s office in Warsaw. They will announce the results of their talks at a joint press conference.
The V4 prime ministers will also be received by President of the Republic Andrzej Duda who – according to prior information released by his office – will talk about the European migration crisis and the EU budget.
According to the V4 presidency programme accessible on the website of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to the regional coordination of the talks about the EU budget, priorities of the group will include promoting everyday relations among people after the pandemic and the opening of borders. They further intend to intensify cooperation in the areas of digitisation, security policy and infrastructure developments, while in the field of foreign relations priorities include the EU integration of the Western Balkans region and supporting the Eastern Partnership.
