Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wished every member of the Hungarian Jewish community a blessed and peaceful Hanukkah. The Prime Minister’s letter was delivered to the leaders of Hungarian Jewish organisations today, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed kormany.hu.
In his festive greeting Mr. Orbán wrote the following:
“Please accept my greetings and respect as you celebrate the Festival of Lights. Year after year remembering the significant events of our past together and jointly giving thanks for liberation are important cohesive forces in the life of every family and every community.
“The faith and perseverance of ancestors not only has the potential to set an example for the present, but can also offer hope and encouragement to future generations.”
