The Prime Ministers and Foreign Affairs Ministers of Hungary and Serbia held an informal colloquium at Monday night in Subotica, Serbia – the Prime Minister’s press chief Bertalan Havasi announced. Viktor Orbán, Aleksandar Vucic, Péter Szijjártó and Ivica Dacic discussed the energy security of the region and the further development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

They have agreed to hold continuous consultations on potential new investments following the situation that was created by the cancellation of the South Stream project and to jointly carry out their financial and technical preparation. It is the interest of both countries to avail of gas at a competitive price, and that necessitates having multiple sources and routes transporting the energy carrier to Central Europe.
