Hungary's economy has a lot of potential and "that should fill us with hope", Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in north-eastern Hungary on Thursday at the inauguration ceremony of a new poultry-processing plant built by the Master Good Group in Kisvárda.

The Prime Minister stressed that Hungary's economy and employment rate were able to grow because "Hungarians will not give up their entrepreneurial spirit".

He noted that three quarters of Hungary's employees work for small and medium-sized enterprises, and called it a national objective to help SMEs to success, adding that the Hungarian economy will stay on a growing trajectory if we can multiply the number of such ventures.
According to Prime Minister Orbán, the success of Master Good, one of the largest employers in the north east, proves that it is families with an entrepreneurial spirit that can make Hungary stronger.

In addition, Master Good, has supported civil, cultural and sports organisations with a total of some HUF 40 million in recent years.

Minister for National Development Miklós Seszták highlighted that the Ministry of National Development will take responsibility to make more efficient use of its available resources to support Hungary’s competitiveness, and a prerequisite for this is to make Hungarian goods more marketable abroad. To this end, the operating costs of enterprises should be decreased and the Ministry will contribute to this through the reduction of industrial utility costs.

Managing Director of Master Good László Bárány said the expanded plant will process 12,500 chickens-an-hour, making it one of the frontrunners in Europe. HUF 250 million of the project’s total cost of HUF 2.1 billion was obtained in the form of government grants, he said.
