Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić in his office on Tuesday, head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister, Bertalan Havasi told Hungarian news agency MTI.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, it was agreed that the next Hungarian-Serbian government summit will be held in February.
The partners agreed that preparations for the construction of the southern gas corridor, which will greatly facilitate Hungary’s energy security, will go ahead according to schedule, Mr. Havasi told the press.
It was also stated that Hungary will continue to be the loudest proponent of Serbia’s EU accession and is calling on the EU to open three new chapters of accession negotiations before the end of this year.
Also discussed at the meeting was the fact that construction of the Serbian stretch of the Budapest-Belgrade railway line will begin on Tuesday.
