In Suzhou in China, the Prime Minister held bilateral talks with Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic and Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius. The discussions mainly focused on Montenegro’s NATO and EU membership, and the Hungarian-Lithuanian business forum planned for the beginning of next year, respectively.

At the meeting held with Milo Djukanovic, the Hungarian Prime Minister said that Hungary is a committed supporter of Montenegro’s NATO membership. He also instructed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó to stand up for Montenegro’s invitation at next week’s NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting.

Furthermore, Mr. Orbán made it clear that he is also strongly in favour of Montenegro’s EU membership, as the most efficient way to stabilise the Western Balkan region is its European and Euro Atlantic integration.

Mr. Orbán also held talks with Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius. They agreed that in order to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, at the beginning of next year, Mr. Szijjártó will organise a Hungarian-Lithuanian business forum in Budapest. The aim of the forum will be to provide an opportunity to discuss cooperation opportunities in sectors based on high value-added research and development activities.
