On Sunday in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Alexey Likhachev, Chief Executive Officer of the Rosatom Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
At the meeting the parties reviewed the status of the Paks nuclear power station construction project, and discussed further tasks for the future.
According to Mr Orbán, the construction of the two new nuclear power station blocks will significantly enhance Hungary’s energy security, and will also contribute to Hungary’s energy independence and the attainment of climate protection goals.
The project is therefore fully in harmony with Hungary’s national interests, the Prime Minister stressed.
