On Friday Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister, informed the Hungarian news agency MTI that Prime Minister of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini had sent a letter to Viktor Orbán, congratulating him on his re-election as Prime Minister of Hungary and highlighting continued intensive cooperation between the two countries. Mr. Havasi also told MTI that Mr. Orbán’s first official foreign visit as prime minister will be to Warsaw.
The Slovakian prime minister highlighted that in recent years bilateral cooperation has resulted in significant and tangible results on both sides, from which the citizens of both countries have benefited.
He said he was pleased that this successful cooperation has ensured steady development, not only in the sphere of politics, but also in economic, energy policy, cultural and social spheres.
Mr. Pellegrini expressed the hope that bilateral relations will continue to develop dynamically, and that intensive and constructive cooperation will also be maintained within the cooperation of the Visegrád countries (V4), and at a European level.
In answer to a question from MTI, Mr. Havasi said that after his re-election, Mr. Orbán’s first official foreign visit as prime minister will be to Warsaw in Poland next Monday.
