On Monday afternoon in the Carmelite Monastery in Budapest, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Charles Michel, the new elected President of the European Council.

At the meeting, Mr Orbán and the new Council President entering into office on 1 December reviewed all important topics of relations between Hungary and the European Union, ranging from migration, through economic policy, all the way to foreign policy.

Mr Orbán and Mr Michel mutually expressed their intention to cooperate in the interest of finding the right answers to the challenges Europe will face in coming years, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
