On Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and US President Donald Trump had a working conference. During the telephone conversation, the parties spoke about the importance of border protection, the fight against the coronavirus, and the management of the world economic consequences of the epidemic, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief confirmed to the Hungarian news agency MTI.
According to his information, Mr Orbán and Mr Trump established that bilateral political and economic relations between Hungary and the United States continued to remain excellent.
Pursuant to the information released by the White House in Washington in the afternoon, the President and the Hungarian Prime Minister agreed that the American and Hungarian people “have a strong desire to safely open their communities, and to return to work”. The leaders also discussed important bilateral and regional issues, including border security, security in telecommunications, and the need for the diversification of supply chains and the protection of critical infrastructure, they wrote in their communication.
