On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán paid an unannounced visit to the Tolna County Balassa János Hospital. As part of the inspection, he visited – and introduced on his social media account – the wards set up in conformity with the professional protocol reserved for patients suspected of coronavirus infection and confirmed patients, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The Szekszárd hospital is a pavilion institution where people suffering from different diseases can be treated in separate buildings.

The Prime Minister viewed two wards where it will be possible to provide larger numbers of patients in need of intensive care with assisted ventilation.

The head physician’s report reveals that at this time they are treating one confirmed coronavirus patient. However, at maximum capacity the hospital could provide care for up to 180 patients at any one time.

At the end of his visit, the Prime Minister congratulated the hospital staff on their state of preparedness.
