Press Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office Bertalan Havasi has informed Hungarian news agency MTI that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has nominated Márton Nagy for the post of Deputy Governor of the Hungarian National Bank.
The Prime Minister has informed Speaker of the House László Kövér of his nomination in a letter. The Deputy Governor is appointed by the President of Hungary, based on the Prime Minister’s nomination.
Mr. Nagy will attend a hearing based on his nomination, which will be held by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economics.
Márton Nagy was born in 1976. Between 1998 and 2000 he worked as a macroeconomic analyst at the Government Debt Management Agency Hungary (ÁKK), later becoming a leading analyst at ING Asset Management Plc. From 2002 onwards he worked as a leading economist at the Hungarian National Bank, where he was later assigned various positions in the field of stability. Since 2013 he has been Executive Director of the Directorate for Financial Stability and Lending Incentives.
