Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will be making an official visit to Azerbaijan over the weekend, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief informed Hungarian news agency MTI.
Bertalan Havasi told the press that the Prime Minister will leave for Baku on Saturday morning, and will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, Minister for Economy Mihály Varga and Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas.
On Saturday Mr. Orbán will meet his Azerbaijani counterpart Artur Rasizade. After this representatives of the two countries will sign a declaration of intent on the setting up of an ICT (information and communication technology) development fund, a memorandum of understanding on sharing experience related to employment, and a declaration of intent on cooperation between Hungary’s Semmelweis University and Azerbaijan Medical University.
On Sunday Prime Minister Orbán and his wife Anikó Lévai will visit the Alley of Honour to place wreaths on the graves of national leader Heydar Aliyev and his wife Zarifa Aliyeva. After this the Prime Minister will meet Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Presidential Palace.
Following the meeting, Mr. Orbán will present the Hungarian Order of Merit to President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, after which the final event of the visit will be a gala dinner for the Hungarian delegation, hosted by President Aliyev and the First Lady.
