At a working visit, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will meet in Kidricevo in Slovenia on Wednesday, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday afternoon, confirming Slovenian press reports.

The two prime ministers will also attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of the construction of the Cirkovce-Pince power line, he added.

On Tuesday, the Slovenian press reported that the planned 2 x 400 kV Cirkovce-Pince power line – which forms part of the power line connection between Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia – is one of the Ljubljana government’s main priorities in the development of Slovenia’s energy infrastructure. The power line will create the first interstate connection to the Hungarian transmission network, and will increase the reliability of the Slovenian electricity system, transmission network and import transmission capacity for the event of unforeseeable events and technical failures.

In this regard, Mr Havasi told MTI that on the Hungarian side the connection had been completed up to the border in 1999, and the implementation of the section on the Slovenian side within the shortest possible time was a high priority also for Hungary.
