We have the first infected person; in fact, we have two patients who had to be transported to a health care institution due to coronavirus infection, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced in the early evening on Wednesday after he had attended the meeting of the Operational Corps in the building of the Ministry of Interior.
The first two infected persons are foreigners, students from Iran. For the time being, they have no symptoms, but in accordance with the necessary protocol, they were taken to the Szent László Hospital, he said.
The coronavirus infection has now appeared in Hungary. From today on, we have moved to a protective phase. The Operational Corps will meet every day at noon, and will inform members of the press thereafter, the Prime Minister said.
He added that the Operational Corps had concluded that all necessary personal, physical and legal conditions necessary for protecting ourselves against the virus were available, including an adequate staff of qualified physicians and nurses, technical equipment such as face masks, and the legal rules necessary for managing the situation, based on which physicians, police officers and public administration experts can do their jobs.
