Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief, has informed kormany.hu that in Malta prior to the congress of the European People’s Party, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Pedro Agramunt, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

During the talks Mr. Orbán made it clear that strengthening border protection legislation serves the interests of Hungarian and European citizens’ safety; certain non-governmental organisations with foreign backgrounds are exploiting their positions both financially and politically, which can lead to a variety of legal disputes. The Government of Hungary, however, is committed to defending the borders of Hungary and Europe.
