Bertalan Havasi, Press Chief of the Prime Minister, has told kormany.hu that in the Parliament building on Wednesday morning Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Daniel Korioth, CEO of Robert Bosch GmbH, held talks on the role of Bosch in Hungary’s economy and the company’s development plans.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, the parties agreed that Bosch has become Hungary’s biggest employer among foreign companies involved in production and development. So far the company has invested some HUF 370 billion in Hungary, to which the Government of Hungary has contributed support from the central budget of some HUF 20 billion. This has resulted in the company employing 15,000 people in Budapest and a number of other settlements.
In its development plans for the modern industry of the future, Bosch will assign an important role to Hungary, where it sees further major potential in the fields of R&D and engineering.
