Bertalan Havasi, head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister, has informed Hungarian news agency MTI that in the Parliament Building on Monday afternoon Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received the President of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Lord Sebastian Coe.

One of the meeting’s main topics was Hungary’s and Budapest’s proposed bid to host the 2023 World Athletics Championships. Lord Coe expressed interest and openness to this proposal.

At the meeting it was stated that “The 120-year history of Hungarian athletics guarantees that in Hungary the sport’s future will be at least as bright as its past”.
