Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received European Union Special Envoy for promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the EU Jan Figel in the Parliament Building on Thursday morning, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, Bertalan Havasi informed the kormany.hu government news portal.
Jan Figel informed the Hungarian Prime Minister about his current investigations, among which he highlighted the worsening situation of Christians and people of other religions in Pakistan. Mr. Orbán assured the Special Envoy that Hungary will continue to take a firm stance against the increasingly apparent global phenomenon of Christian persecution, while taking into account the principle according to which assistance must be taken to the affected regions instead of bringing the trouble into Europe, Mr. Havasi said with regard to what was said at the meeting.
