Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a letter to his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu to mark Israeli Independence Day, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, Bertalan Havasi informed Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.
According to Mr. Orbán, over the past seven years Hungary and Israel have developed a wide-ranging and successful cooperation. The Prime Minister reminded Mr. Netanyahu of his “historic” visit to Budapest in July 2017, which in his opinion was the highlight of their outstanding partnership to date, adding that he hopes to reciprocate the visit in the near future.
The Hungarian Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with regard to the fact that the joint projects determined within the framework of bilateral and V4-Israeli cooperation have begun and are moving forward according to schedule. Mr. Orbán also assured Benjamin Netanyahu that Hungary remains committed to the further reinforcement of political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. In closing, the Prime Minister explained: “Hungary is particularly proud of its Jewish community and of people of Hungarian origin living in Israel, who continue to constitute one of the most important pillars of bilateral cooperation”.
