Viktor Orbán visited the Szeklerland Ice Hockey Academy in Csíkkarcfalva (Cârța) on Friday.

The Prime Minister was greeted by the Academy’s students; he shook hands with several of them and a joint photograph was taken with the ice hockey players in their team jerseys.

At the end of the visit, the children sang the Szekler Anthem together with Viktor Orbán and the Academy’s sports staff.

The Szeklerland Ice Hockey Academy’s medical and methodological centre, which was official inaugurated on 18 January, was constructed with the help of 640 million forints (EUR 2 million) in funding from the Hungarian State. The building includes a training hall suitable for holding dry training sessions, a hockey rink with a synthetic ice surface, a skating machine, equipment to develop shooting and dribbling techniques, and one of Romania’s most modern sports medical centres.
