As the opposition did not vote for the bill on the extension of the state of danger, a stalemate situation developed; “some of our important decisions ceased to have effect, and the boat of our containment effort sprang a leak”. Today, we have managed to patch up that leak, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Tuesday evening, before his meeting with the leaders of the coronavirus task forces.
In a video message posted on his Facebook account, he said the evening meeting will be long, important issues will be on the agenda.
Mr Orbán said the most important decision is that “we have managed to patch up the leak” caused by the opposition. He signed the decrees which had ceased to have effect in unchanged form; they have again taken effect, are in operation and helping with the containment effort.
