“The Government has replied in detail to the issues raised by Brussels with regard to the National Consultation”, Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson said at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
“The number of National Consultation questionnaires returned so far has crossed the one million mark”, the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister’s Parliamentary State Secretary, Csaba Dömötör announced.
“The Government is taking Brussels’ attacks on the National Consultation seriously and will be responding to the issues raised in detail”, Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson said on Kossuth Radio’s “Sunday Paper” program.
The Minister of State for Governmental Communication takes the view that Brussels has attacked the national consultation which is currently in progress, while they conceal or distort fundamental facts.
The Hungarian Government has been in continuous talks with officials from the European Commission on the Hungarian immigration regulations currently in force. The most important issue for the Government is the continued existence of transit zones.
“More than 600 thousand people have returned their National Consultation questionnaires”, Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson said on Kossuth Radio’s “180 minutes” program on Tuesday.
“The National Consultation is not anti-European, and in fact it is distinctly pro-European and is aimed at reforming the EU through protecting issues that fall within a national sphere of competence”, the Minister of State for Government Communication said.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán defended Hungary’s and the Government’s position on every issue in Brussels, at the meeting of the Presidency of the European People’s Party and at the meeting of the European Council, Antal Rogán said on the programme Vasárnapi Újság of Kossuth Rádió.
By the end of the meeting of the European People’s Party, it was evident to every one of the attendees that Hungary’s place is in the EU, and Fidesz’s place is in the European People’s Party, Antal Rogán, the Minister heading the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister said on Saturday in Brussels, after the meeting.
Over half a million people have filled out and sent in their National Consultation questionnaires, most of them by post.
