“Hungary is among the most effective environmental protectionists in Europe, and will be fulfilling its undertakings with relation to pollutant emissions”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said at the Climate Summit conference in Budapest on Friday.
Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics and Managing Director of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Patrick Ky renewed the cooperation agreement between the two organisations on 9 October in Budapest. The Agency’s liaison office in Budapest will continue to provide on-site support in the interests of assuring an even higher level of aviation safety during the first half of 2021.
“In addition to the production plant, a test environment suitable for testing Lynx armoured vehicles and off-road vehicles will also be established at the ZalaZone automotive industry test track in cooperation with Rheinmetal”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics announced in Zalaegerszeg in Thursday.
According to the OECD’s annual education report, practical training in the workplace plays an outstanding role in Hungary, even in international comparison, the chances of people with vocational qualifications finding work are good, and teachers’ salaries are continuously increasing.
“Hungary would like to benefit from the opportunities afforded by artificial intelligence, and would like to be one of the winners of these technological changes”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics declared on Tuesday at the University of Debrecen, where he presented the country’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy.
State Secretary for Higher Education, Innovation and Vocational Training József Bódis and the Czech Republic’s Deputy Minister for the European Union and European Structural and Investment Funds Václav Velčovský held a meeting in Budapest on 27 August to discuss tasks relating to the establishment of the European Research and Infrastructure Consortium (ELI ERIC).
“The government has provided assistance to a total of 270 thousand people via the job protection, research & development and job creation wage funding programs”, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology’s State Secretary for employment policy said at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
“Following a low-point in mid-June, the number of registered job seekers in Hungary fell by almost 25 thousand by the beginning of August, which clearly indicates that a favourable turnaround is occurring on the job market”, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology’s State Secretary for Employment Policy Sándor Bodó stated. “The number of people without employment has been falling for the seventh week running thanks to the measures included in the Economy Protection Action Plan”, he added.
The founding and maintenance rights of the University of Veterinary Science, the University of Miskolc, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art, the Neumann János University, the University of Sopron and the Széchenyi István University will be transferred to asset management foundations beginning on 1 August 2020. Thanks to the new form of financing, institutions will be able to react more flexibly and rapidly to economic requirements. The government’s goal is for the more modern and calculable operational environment to increase the competitiveness of higher education, and by doing so to enable young Hungarians to be the winners of the future.
“We would like young Hungarians to be the winners of the future, and not even the coronavirus pandemic can prevent us from reaching this goal”, Deputy Minister for Innovation and Technology Tamás Schanda declared.
