Maintaining the security of domestic energy supply is a top priority of Hungary’s energy policy, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and Climate Policy of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology said at the inauguration of the Konyár gas processing plant of O&GD Central Kft.
Within the framework of the mining concession system launched by the Government in 2013, the 7th round has been announced for investors to apply for the concession rights of ten designated areas in Hungary. The Ministry of Innovation and Technology has issued public invitations to tender for the prospection, exploration and production of hydrocarbon in the areas of Csongrád, Csorna, Érd, Kadarkút, Kisvárda, Nyírbátor, Pusztaszer and Zala-Kelet, for the prospection, extraction and exploitation of geothermal energy in the Gádoros area, and for the prospection, exploration and production of lignite in the Sajókápolna area.
“The state must assume a role in the deployment of the infrastructure of 5G networks”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said at the plenary session and conference of the 5G Coalition (5GK) in Budapest on Tuesday.
The European Innovation Scoreboard compiled by the European Commission helps assess the research & development and innovation (RDI) systems of the European Union’s 28 member states in international comparison. According to the latest report, Hungary is showing a stagnating innovation performance and has fallen back to 23rd place. The existing RDI system is therefore not capable of creating the social and economic profit required to increase Hungary’s competitiveness; it is time for change, and the institutional system and its financing must both be reinforced.
“The Government will be providing 35 billion forints (EUR 108 million) in funding for the development of education and training relating to automotive industry development projects in Debrecen; the related proposal will be put before the Cabinet next week”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said at a press conference at the city’s town hall on Friday.
“New ideas, an innovative approach and targeted international cooperation are required to enable transportation to continue to support economic growth in future”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Thursday in Budapest in his opening speech at the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Transport Senior Officials Meeting.
The primary goal of the legislative amendment bill currently before parliament, and required for the reorganisation of the institutional system and the financing of Hungarian research & development and innovation, is for there to be more research that effectively assists the Hungarian economy.
“The Government is supporting Hungarian applicants to enable them to be as successful as possible in their efforts to receive direct research & development & innovation (R&D&I) funding (Horizon 2020) from Brussels”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Tuesday in Budapest at a professional event jointly organised by the Ministry and the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH).
“If today in Hungary a company is capable of manufacturing six buses in seven days, it indicates that Hungarian bus manufacturing is experiencing its renaissance”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said in Mosonmagyaróvár at the official delivery of the Kravtex-Kühne bus factory’s two thousandth Credobus.
The Government is protecting the results achieved by the Hungarian economy to date; this is the goal of next year’s budget and of the Economy Protection Action Plan.
