“The adoption of the comprehensive Migration Compact currently under debate is the worst possible step that the UN can take for handling the challenge of migration, because it will lead to dangerous processes and further waves of immigration”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared in his speech at the high-level meeting of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Friday evening.
“The countries that make up the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, which was established as a forum for enabling closer relations between peoples and cultures, must increase their joint efforts in the interests of facilitating effective action against the new security challenges, including the wave of migration and religious extremism”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared on Friday evening in New York at the ministerial-level meeting of the Alliance’s member states.

“Hungary does not wish to take part in the adoption process of the global compact for migration ongoing in the UN in any respect, and does not regard it as applicable to itself in any way whatsoever”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó confirmed on Friday in New York during his negotiations on the sidelines of the high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly.
