The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Minister of State for Economic Diplomacy Levente Magyar and Ukrainian Member of Parliament and President of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association (KMKSZ) Mr. László Brenzovics concluded a cooperation agreement on 9 June 2016 in Beregszász/Berehove on the launching of a close to 30 billion forint (EUR 96M) economic development funding programme before the end of the year aimed at the economic strengthening of Hungarians in Transcarpathia.
“The Hungarian Government believes that Hungarian-Chinese trade flow would also receive further momentum if China were to be afforded market economy status by the European Union, because this would also mean more market opportunities for Hungarian companies”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at the meeting of Chinese and Central-Eastern European (CEEC) Ministers of Trade in Ningbo, eastern China.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó met with Bosnian Foreign Minister Mirko Šarović to discuss bilateral relations on the side-lines of the meeting of Chinese and Central-Eastern European commerce ministers in Ningpo, eastern China.
At a meeting of Chinese and Central and Eastern European ministers of economy, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó held talks with Romanian Minister of Economy Costin Borc. The two ministers said that Hungary and Romania regard each other as strategic partners.
Hungary’s application for observer membership of the Council of the Baltic Seas States (CBSS) was accepted on 8 June 2016.
While in Kingpo, the Hungarian Foreign Minister signed several agreements that according to Mr. Szijjártó could see Hungarian food industry exports to China exceed USD 100 million this year.
“The proposal announced on Tuesday with regard to the migration situation by European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos is astounding, and Hungary rejects it accordingly”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó told Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.

(HNTH) will be opening two offices in India before the end of the year, one in the northern part of the country and one in the south, enabling Indian partners to become familiar with the expertise, products and technologies of some 4 thousand Hungarian small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs)”, Minister of State László Szabó from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Triade announced on Friday in Budapest at a press conference following the fourth meeting of the Hungarian-Indian Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó met with Chairman of Polish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Gregorz Schetyna to discuss bilateral relations on Friday in Budapest, the Ministry wrote in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI.
