Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó was in Sarajevo today to discuss security, economic, transport and diplomatic cooperation, from where, in a telephone interview with Hungarian news agency MTI, he stressed: “It is in Hungary’s fundamental security interests for Bosnia-Hercegovina to integrate as soon as possible into those organisations that represent a guarantee to the security and stability of the Western Balkan country”.
“The Government trusts that the referendum will provide it with a clear mandate on what standpoint it should represent with relation to the compulsory resettlement quotas. The Government does not wish to place pressure on Brussels, but will instead be presenting a clear political standpoint”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó told reporters in Budapest.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó has stated that no one – not even former US President Bill Clinton – should feel he can insult Hungarians.
“Our friendship with Israel is a stable point of Hungarian foreign policy and Hungary is doing everything possible to maintain and develop the friendship that links the people of Hungary and Israel”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Thursday in Budapest.
“The agreement on establishing a new headquarters concluded with one of the United Nations’ most important specialized agencies, the World Health Organisation (WHO), is an honour for Hungary”, Minister of State for Security Policy and International Cooperation Dr. István Mikola from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade stressed.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó concluded diplomatic, economic and education agreements during his one-day official visit to Costa Rica, from where he informed Hungarian news agency MTI by telephone from San José de Costa Rica on Wednesday evening local time.
“We must assist countries that are already providing care for refugees”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on American television news channel CNN.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has informed kormany.hu that Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó has held talks with Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Hassan Shoukry, in order to prepare for Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s visit to Cairo, which is scheduled for May.
“A new world order is coming about in which maintaining peace and security requires much more effort than before”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stressed at the United Nations General Assembly’s two-day thematic debate on international security and the global organisation’s peacekeeping activities, which began on Tuesday.
“Hungarian-American relations rest on secure foundations and although they are sometimes burdened by tensions economic cooperation is excellent and joint tasks performed within the framework of Transatlantic cooperation is similarly good”, Péter Szijjártó declared in New York during a speech at the Harvard Club.
