“Migration is a key issue in every European country; during the past three years it has become clear that political issues relating to migration permeate every area of life”, State Secretary for International Communications and Relations Zoltán Kovács said on Kossuth Radio.
“Experience indicates that migrants are setting off towards Europe from more and more countries; most recently particularly from Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan”, György Bakondi said.
An investment project costing over fourteen billion forints (EUR 43 million) is commencing at Bosch’s plant in Miskolc, Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Ltd; amongst others, production lines and testing equipment for next generation products will be realised within the framework of the project, which will be completed in 2021.
“The Hungarian economy is performing increasingly well: In 2018, the deficit calculated according to EU methodology is expected to have been around 2 percent, instead of the planned 2.4%, and the sovereign debt to GDP ratio could have fallen even further to 71%”, Minister of Finance Mihály Varga announced.

At a press conference on Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stressed that so far the only country in which people have had a chance to state their opinions on the issue of immigration is Hungary, while people in other European countries have not had the opportunity to do so. Therefore, he pointed out, the elections to the European Parliament in May will be a great opportunity for Europeans to voice their opinions.

A strong Central Europe within the European Union, both in a political and economic sense, is a common interest of Hungary and Slovenia. This is not an anti-EU position, but very much a pro-EU stance as a strong Europe cannot exist without strong Member States and regions which are capable of growth, Szabolcs Takács, the Minister of State for EU Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office told the Hungarian news agency MTI in an interview given by telephone on Thursday.
