The intergovernmental working group on the Ukrainian Education Act proposed by Hungary to Ukraine will convene in the second half of June, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced.
Minister of Human Capacities Miklós Kásler introduced his new Ministers of State on Monday in Budapest. The Minister described the newly appointed Ministers of State as experienced experts in their respective areas.
“The Hungarian Government is outraged by and rejects the UN Refugee Agency’s (UNHCR) call for Hungary to withdraw the legislative package which, in its opinion, would significantly restrict the ability of NGOs and individuals to support asylum-seekers and refugees”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.

In the latest Economic Outlook, the OECD predicts economic growth of 4.4 percent for this year in Hungary, Minister of Finance Mihály Varga said. Commenting on the report after a ministerial-level meeting at the organization’s headquarters in Paris, the Minister said the OECD had revised the former estimates of November 2017 for both this year and next by 0.8 percentage points each.
“To the Hungarian Government, the safety of the Hungarian people comes first”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement on Wednesday in reaction to the fact that the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has called on the Hungarian Government to withdraw the “Stop Soros” legislative package.
“The proposal is in harmony with the results of the parliamentary elections in view of the fact that Hungarian citizens clearly stated: Hungary must be protected from illegal immigration. The bill mirrors this intent”, Csaba Dömötör said.
