The Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CE) and the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have also sent letters of congratulation to Viktor Orbán, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, Bertalan Havasi informed Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.
“The majority of people were fully aware of what was at stake as Sunday’s parliamentary elections, and the result is absolutely clear: their homeland, their culture and their security are all important to the Hungarians”, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister declared on Hungarian M1 television’s Wednesday evening current affairs program.
“Following the result of the elections, international pressure on Hungary will be increased, but the Government will be resisting this with renewed strength”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó told reporters in Dunakeszi on Thursday.

At a public press conference in the Parliament Building in Budapest on Tuesday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that in the parliamentary election on Sunday “the Hungarian people stood up in support of Hungarian sovereignty”.
The demographics-focused administration mentioned by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán means measures that favour the nation and families, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács explained on Hungarian TV2 television’s morning show on Wednesday.
According to the Government Spokesperson, the Prime Minister placed focus on the most important national strategy issue when during his press conference on Tuesday he said that according to his intentions the next period in government will be weighted towards demographics.
The Government of Hungary, in collaboration with the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT) and the U.S. Department of Energy, will hold the Fierce Falcon Workshop between 10-12 April 2018 in Budapest.
