“German automotive industry Continental is establishing a new software development centre in Budapest that will employ one hundred engineers; the Hungarian Government is providing 1.37 billion forints (EUR 4.4 million) in funding towards the realisation of the 5.5 billion forint (EUR 17.75 million) project”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced.
As a result of the 66-month downward unemployment trend, the unemployment rate has hit a record low of 3.8 percent in the period October-December 2017. Accordingly, the number of jobless people has fallen by almost two-thirds, to some 175 thousand, over the past seven years. The number of people in employment has risen to 4 million 447 thousand, up by 738 thousand since the change of government in 2010.
“Hungary is calling for the adoption a farmer-friendly and much simpler Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) at EU-level negotiations. Replying to a question at a press conference following his meeting with Czech prime minister Andrej Babiš in Budapest on Friday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that George Soros has become a true migrant: he has transgressed every border. He added that Hungary wants to protect its own interests, it does not want to become an immigrant country, and it wants to preserve its border protection and its border security fence. Meanwhile, he said, George Soros wants to make every country an immigrant country, and wants to make Europe an immigrant continent.
