The number of migrants arriving in Hungary illegally can be reduced to effectively zero with the second fence erected on the southern border, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács stressed on the Thursday evening programme of the public service television news channel M1.
The Government Spokesperson takes the view that political attacks are being levelled at the law tightening the legal border closure.
In the Concluding Statement 2017 Article IV Mission published earlier today, the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recognizes robust economic growth in recent years and favourable fiscal trends as economic policy successes. The IMF delegation – in accordance with Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement – held consultations on 23 February – 8 March 2017 in Budapest. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó paid a visit to the severely damaged Church of the Sacred Heart and Saint Benedict in the quake-ridden town of Tolentino, in the Marche Region of Central-Italy, towards the restoration of which Hungary has contributed a sum of HUF 150 million.
