Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács has told Hungarian television channel M1 that the timeframe of OLAF’s report on Budapest’s Metro 4 project clearly shows that administrations at metropolitan and state levels prior to 2010 are to be held responsible for the abuses in that project.
On Friday morning, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told Kossuth Radio’s “180 Minutes” programme that the pragmatic and practical steps Hungary has been highlighting for two years are now central concepts in the European Union.
“According to the European Anti-Fraud Office, there were problems with 272 billion forints in contracts out of a total of 400 billion”, Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office János Lázár said at the Governmentinfo 77 press conference, which he held jointly with Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács.
“Last year, Hungary succeeded in breaking all previous foreign trade records: the Hungarian economy produced its highest ever level of exports and succeeded in achieving its highest ever foreign trade surplus”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared.
Ministry for National Economy Mihály Varga and the Hungarian companies of breaking-systems producer Knorr-Bremse concluded an MoU to assist the development of Hungarian suppliers in the SME sector. The document was signed by Minister Varga and the representatives of Hungarian subsidiaries.

“The area of land used for organic farming and the number of enterprises involved in organic farming in Hungary has practically doubled during the course of a single year. While organic farming was performed on 120 thousand hectares in 2015, 200 thousand hectares were used for this purpose in 2016”, Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas said on Thursday as a conference at Szent István University in Gödöllő.

“Russian-Hungarian regional economic cooperation is a promising opportunity for Hungary”, the Minister of Agriculture said in a telephone statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday after visiting Smolensk County in Western Russia.
