“This year’s budget includes 40 million forints for animal protection tasks, which will finance the spaying and castration of dogs in shelters, the modernisation of dog pounds and animal shelters, and a programme to increase public awareness about being a responsible pet owner”, Minister of State Róbert Zsigó said at a press conference in Budapest.
The world’s largest agriculture, food industry and horticulture expo, Berlin’s International Green Week (IGW) ended on Sunday with a resounding success and over 400 thousand visitors; this year, for the second time in history, Hungary was the event’s exclusive partner country.
“For the first time in years, the international political situation is such that it is having a favourable effect on the development of Hungarian-Russian relations”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said following a meeting with Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova.
“The International Green Week in Berlin has had a good effect on German-Hungarian relations. The existing historical, political and economic links have been reinforced thanks to the fact that the Hungarian stand welcomed a record 400 thousand visitors”, Minister of Agriculture Sandor Fazekas said on Hungarian television’s morning show.

In an interview for news portal szegedma.hu published on Tuesday, the Prime Minister declared that “Szeged has several competitive advantages, which if exploited could make it a regional centre; but close cooperation with the Government is also necessary, because these days it is impossible to realise major investments in Hungary without government support”.

“The output of Hungarian agriculture increased by 55 percent between 2010 and 2016”, Minister of State for Agricultural Economy György Czerván said at a training course for Békés and Somogy County agricultural leaders in Harkány.
