The Hungarian Government respects Germany’s desire to let immigrants in, but finds it inconceivable that this decision should be binding on any other countries, the Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office said. János Lázár spoke about this at the press conference “Governmentinfo 29 – Government actions explained” which he held jointly with Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has told national news agency MTI that on Thursday the foreign ministers of Hungary, Greece and Bulgaria held a meeting in Luxembourg to discuss the future energy supply of Central and South Eastern Europe.

The central sub sector of the state budget closed the month of October with a surplus of HUF 138.4bn. This has been the consequence on one hand of the transfer of hitherto suspended EU funding totalling several hundreds of billions of forints and – on the other hand – of higher-than-expected tax revenues. Thus, the accumulated shortfall of the central sub sector of the state budget decreased to HUF 816.2bn.
Hungary’s retail sector has been expanding for the 27th consecutive month, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said, commenting on the latest retail sales data compiled by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) in the month of September. As the Minister pointed out, turnover growth was mainly attributable – besides solid economic growth, record-high employment and rising wages in real terms – to certain Government measures such as the phasing out of forex loans and introducing a family-focused tax regime.
Representatives of technical cooperation agencies, ministries of agriculture and centers of excellence from Algeria, Hungary, Morocco, Turkey and Uzbekistan exchanged information and views on the successful homegrown solutions in the area of Agricultural Biotechnology, in a workshop organized in Gödöllő, Hungary. They also discussed other aspects of agricultural development contributing to enhanced food security.
