In the initial four months of the year, foreign trade posted a surplus of EUR 3bn, and thus positive trade processes have continued, Deputy State Secretary for Prioritized Enterprise Relations Zoltán István Marczinkó told public news channel M1, commenting on the latest trade data released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office.
At a press conference on Saturday, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács announced that so far four hundred thousand citizens have responded to the national consultation on immigration, and two hundred thousand of the replies have already been processed. These show that the majority expect more decisive action from Hungary and the European Union in the field of immigration, Mr. Kovács said.

Hungary is interested in Egypt’s success because there is no stable Mediterranean and no stable Europe without a stable Egypt, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Friday at a business forum organized in Budapest by the Hungarian National Trading House, Inc. with the aim of raising awareness of Egypt’s business environment.
In his interview with Kossuth Radio, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán identified the revision of building regulations and taxation procedures as two symbolic issues for governance in the next half year. The Prime Minister also spoke about the issue of immigration.
“Through its awareness raising campaign, the Hungarian government highlights one of the most important problems facing Europe,” Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on the Friday morning programme of the M1 news channel.
In order to protect their lives, refugees fleeing civil wars should be allowed into Europe, but not so the economic refugees, said Manfred Weber, faction leader of the European People’s Party at a Budapest conference on the refugee crisis jointly organized by the Foundation for Civic Hungary, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
