The act on unfair market behaviour and the ban on competitive restrictions enables the Government to declare certain company mergers to be of national strategic significance out of public interest.
“Saving the printed media in Hungary is in the public interest”, the Government Communication Centre (GCC) said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday with relation to the fact that the Government has declared the acquisition of a controlling share of Opus Press, Echo TV, New Wave Media Group and Magyar Idők Publisher on the part of Central European Press and Media Foundation as being of national strategic significance.
“773 thousand people have already filled out the National Consultation questionnaire on the protection of families”, the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister’s Parliamentary State Secretary Csaba Dömötör said in a statement to public media on Wednesday.
“The Government is asking Fidesz-KDNP MEPs to take all possible action against the European adoption of migrant visas”, Csaba Dömötör said on Kossuth Radio on Sunday morning.
“The Government will be forwarding the most important messages formulated at the forums held on the future of Europe to the European Commission and to French President Emmanuel Macron. The French President previously himself proposed that there should be a state consultation on the future of Europe in every member state”, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement to public media.

The national consultation on the protection of families will start within days, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister said on Sunday at a press conference held in Budapest.
On Thursday Antal Rogán, the Minister heading the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister, told Hungarian news agency MTI that Fidesz and Prime Minister Orbán support the nomination of Manfred Weber, and not Alexander Stubb, as the so-called “Spitzenkandidat” from the European People’s Party (EPP).
The Residency Bond Programme has resulted in major interest savings for the state.
“The Government supports the sending of an extremely strong message by the General Assembly to the adopters of the Sargentini Report concerning the fact that Hungary cannot be stripped of the right to decide on issues that most affect our lives”, Csaba Dömötör said.
