German enterprises’ confidence in Hungary is rising

Speaking at a session of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK), which marks the 25th anniversary of the organization in Hungary, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga noted that DUIHK and its members were contributing to the country’s economic growth in each and every field and they were also actively working in professional projects aiming to shape economic policies.

The increase of wages in real terms by more than 10 percent means that people who earned their living from work had extra income, on average, worth more than one month of wage last year, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said.

The ESA deficit of the general government budget has turned out to be lower than the initially expected 2.4 percent. The deficit is seen to be some 2 percent for the year 2017, while the ratio of general government debt continued to decrease, by 1.5 percentage points, Minister of State for Public Finances Péter Benő Banai said at a recent press conference in Budapest, commenting on the latest fiscal data of the year 2017 released by the Ministry for National Economy.
Awards for Successful Enterprises presented for the months of November and December 2017

“We can only contribute to the building of a developing society if we can rely on strong economic fundamentals and successful enterprises,” Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said at the ceremony for presenting the Awards for Successful Enterprises in the Ministry for National Economy. The Government has always used its own toolkit to stimulate the development of enterprises and help improve competitiveness and market access, he added.
Industrial sector output up again in November 2017

The unemployment rate has fallen to 3.8 percent, a level unseen since the regime change, and this means that “every Hungarian able and willing to work has got a job”, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said. The country has reached a milestone in employment, he added, and that has been brought about by the Government’s pro-growth policy, the steady expansion and sound growth structure of the economy.
Hungarian economic outlook for 2018 even better than in former years

Private sector wages continued to rise this year

Gross and net wages both grew by 12.8 percent year-on-year in Hungary, thanks to the increase of the minimum wage (for unskilled workers) and guaranteed minimum wage (for skilled workers), tax reductions, rising labour demand in the private sector and various public sector career models, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said, commenting on the latest wage data for the month of October 2017.
