More funding for beekeeping

During the upcoming years, 4.7 million euros will be available for the development of beekeeping, 20 percent more than the current level of funding, primarily for the modernisation of technology and equipment, the Ministry of Agriculture’s Parliamentary State Secretary announced on Tuesday in Dunavarsány at the inauguration of a honey packaging plant owned by a family business.

Farmers engaged in animal husbandry and milk production can expect to receive increased funding in 2015, Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas announced on Friday at the inauguration of Jász-Föld Zrt’s expanded animal husbandry unit on the outskirts of Jászladány in Hungary’s Northern Great Plains region.

This activity has made the Research Institute the Ministry’s most important base of economic research, and with regard to its function has made it the Ministry’s key background institution”, György Czerván said at the conference organised in honour of the sixty-year-old research institute.
Conference on protecting the Carpathians and sustainable development

„Think on a Carpathian scale; act at a local and regional level” was the motto of the fourth conference of the participants of the Carpathian Framework Convention held on 24-26 September in Mikulov, the Czech Republic. The Hungarian delegation was led by Deputy State Secretary for International Affairs Katalin Tóth from the Ministry of Agriculture, which is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Convention here in Hungary.

4.2 Percent Increase in Agricultural Output

The total output of agriculture calculated at basic prices was 2265 billion forints in 2013, an increase of 4.2 percent compared to the previous year, the Minister of State for Agricultural Economy said at the opening of the 29th International Farmers Days trade fair in Bábolna, northwest Hungary.
