There will be no agricultural renewal without precision farming

“The 79th National Agricultural and Food Exhibition and Fair (OMÉK) will be held at the Hungexpo Budapest Fair Center between 26 and 29 September 2019. Organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Marketing Centre (AMC), the event will receive 1.2 billion forints (EUR 3.8 million) in financing from the central budget”, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy announced in Budapest on Thursday.

Winter 2018 food chain inspections closes with HUF 8 million in fines

During their usual winter inspections, officials from the National Food Chain Safety Office found rancid walnuts and poppy seeds for human consumption that contained more morphine than allowed by the relevant regulations. Most of the irregularities elicited just a written warning. The nationwide nspections resulted in 3,312 tests, 117 warnings, 14 business activity limitations, and 125 fines amounting to a total of HUF 8,065,154.
