Supporting young farmers and improving the housing opportunities of young families in rural areas are both important

The Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture international ministerial conference entitled “Rural Areas and Agriculture as an Opportunity for Young People” this Friday in Maribor, at which the guest of honour was Macedonia. At the event traditionally held on the day before the opening of the AGRA international fair, the Ministry of Agriculture’s Minister of State for Rural Development said that Hungary considers supporting young farmers and improving the housing opportunities of young families in rural areas as equally important.

HUF 1.5 billion in funding for fishery management programme

“Funding decisions in the amount of approximately HUF 1.5 billion were made within the Hungarian Fishery Management Operative Programme (MAHOP) financed from EU the budget until August, and the application of a further HUF 1.5 billion may be decided until the end of the summer, which contributes to the implementation of the development ideas formed with respect to the fishery sector”, Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development (Ministry of Agriculture) Miklós Zsolt Kis said in Budapest on Tuesday at a press conference held at the Sziget Festival.
Similarly to Hungary, the majority of EU member states reject the reduction of CAP funding

The European Commission plans to reduce the sum of area-based agricultural funding available during the 2021-2027 period by 16.4 percent compared to the current programming period. 26.6 percent less EU funding would be available to Hungary for rural development. The majority of member states are against the planned reduction of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funding.
African development project for local job creation

V4 statement on agricultural innovation and EU funding

“The countries of the Visegrád Group in addition to six other Central and European countries have signed a joint statement on cooperation in the interests of increasing the proportion of EU funding that can be drawn down for agricultural innovation”, Minister of State for Agriculture Zsolt Feldman announced on Wednesday. The parties also discussed the interests of the region’s countries with relation to the development of the EU’s agricultural funding system.
Expanding Central and Eastern European cooperation in the defence of EU agricultural funding

“The countries of the Visegrád Group (V4) and the Baltic States all agree that the proposed reduction in EU funding available to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in the post-2020 period is unacceptable”, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said in Bábolna at the final meeting of agriculture ministers during the Hungarian Presidency of the V4.
