“Hungary highly appreciates the assistance of the United States in the interests of solving the conflict that has developed with Ukraine because of legislation that violates the rights of minorities”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó told reporters in Budapest on Wednesday following talks with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell.
“Hungary’s goal and interest is a strong and successful Europe, and it is natural for there to be debate on what path leads to this”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Wednesday in Budapest at an international conference entitled “The Future of Europe”.
It is unacceptable to not speak about the security aspects of migration in light of the fact that people coming from a migrant background have committed 29 acts of terrorism in Europe in the past three years, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó pointed out in Brussels on Tuesday, after the meeting of the foreign ministers and representatives in charge of trade and development affairs of the Member States of the European Union.
“Hungary and Poland want a strong Europe, a Europe that is capable of defending itself, its own borders and the security of its citizens”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stressed on Thursday in Warsaw following talks with Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz.
“The activities of international companies that are involved in production in Hungary reinforces Hungarian enterprises, and accordingly the Government will continue to support investment from abroad and facilitate the highest possible ratio of Hungarian suppliers”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó at the HG Média and Trend FM commercial conference in Budapest on Thursday.
“The people sitting in the European Parliament don’t care about Hungarian reality, and it is clear that a group of NGOs is working to paint a negative picture of Hungary”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Hungarian M1 television’s Thursday morning current affairs program.
“Hungarian interests will continue to be the only guiding principle behind Hungarian foreign policy in future”, Péter Szijjártó declared at his hearing before Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday, prior to being reappointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Minister Péter Szijjártó has once again turned to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe with relation to the plight of Transcarpathian Hungarians, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.
“Many conflict situations are not moving towards a solution, and these represent new security challenges for both Central Europe and Hungary”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó highlighted on Tuesday at his hearing before Parliament’s National Security Committee.
“Representing cross-border Hungarian communities will remain one of the most important tasks of foreign policy, as has been the case so far”, Péter Szijjártó said on Tuesday at his hearing before Parliament’s National Solidarity Committee prior to his reappointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
