The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has become unfit and unworthy of the fulfilment of his responsibilities and of his position and must therefore resign with immediate effect, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on the Tuesday programme of the public service television news channel M1.
The European Union must engage in a balanced policy regarding the Middle East conflict, and should therefore convene the next meeting of the EU-Israeli Association Council within the shortest possible time, Levente Magyar, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said at the Brussels meeting of EU Foreign Ministers held on Monday.
During his speech at the 37th session of the UN’s Human Rights Council on Monday in Geneva, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó called on the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid bin Ra'ad Al-Hussein, to immediately resign for accusing Prime Minister of Viktor Orbán of racism and xenophobia.
“The Visegrád Group continues to support the euro-Atlantic integration of the Western Balkans and is providing its unconditional support to the current Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the upcoming Austrian Presidency in the interest of accelerating this process”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stressed in Banja Luka, Bosnia, where he and the relative ministers of the Western Balkan countries gave joint speeches at a conference on the region’s EU enlargement.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade has officially protested the fact that during the negotiations on the UN’s Compact for Migration the European Union put forward as a common EU standpoint something with regard to which there is no consensus between the 28 member states, in a letter to the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
